There are two types which people like doing; Sit on top kayaking where you are not actually sat inside the kayak this is more popular with tourists. Or playboating/river running these are the ones where you sit inside the kayak which i think is much more fun (: You will need a boyancy aid which if you went to a local club they would supply along with paddles and kayaks. Just start from the bottom and work your way up you will soon learn the basics and build it up (: Good luck depends on what type of kayaking you are looking at.
